Posted on Saturday, September 20 @ 01:50:02 CDT by spno

UNITE: New casual worker campaign! Report of todays UNITE launch on Brunswick St - Saturday 20th September

UNITE
The UNITE launch at the Provincial Hotel on Brunswick St, Fitzroy, Melbourne this afternoon was great. About 30 people plus Channel 31 and a freelance reporter turned up. Unite Co-ordinator Nicki Jonas outlined the progress of the campaign and listed the ten companies on the street who have been OK'd by Unite. They are: Black Cat, Provincial Hotel, Holy Sheets, Evelyn Hotel, Bos Castle, Hunter + Gatherers, Vegie Bar, Retro Cafe, Marios, and T2. We then all split up into groups and gave them their stickers. 3 new people signed up to get involved in the campaign.
